Buyer
Position Summary
The Buyer Position will be responsible for procuring items from vendors and effectively managing such inventory in regards to ordering and replenishing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Sourcing and replenishment of various food and non-food items
· Category Management Cycle on responsible categories
· Maintain accurate acquisition costs
· Maintain inventory goals as assigned by management
· Keeping supplier and item information up to date in both the host system and replenishment software package
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
· Proven experience in as a Buyer or in a similar role.
· Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA, etc.) is a plus, but not required.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· 5 years experience in food procurement, preferable in supply chain or category management.
· Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field (preferred).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
